It's more than just free meals! Apply for educational benefits for the 2024-25 school year
(07/26/2024) All Anoka-Hennepin families are encouraged to apply for the educational benefits program for the 2024-25 school year. A new application must be submitted each school year. The enrollment window for the 2024-25 school year begins Aug. 1, 2024.

Rum River teacher Tom Powers named candidate for Minnesota Teacher of the Year
(01/29/2024) Candidates for the 2024 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award have been announced and Anoka-Hennepin has seven educators who were nominated. This year’s program will name the 60th Minnesota Teacher of the Year, celebrating the tradition of excellence in teaching in Minnesota.

Rum River fourth graders “Share the Warmth” with new to district students
(12/22/2023) Over the years, fourth grade students at Rum River Elementary School have helped provide warm blankets through many different organizations including the Alexandra House, children’s hospitals, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Department and nursing homes.

Madison students access bike safety resources, thanks to AHEF grant

Fifth-grade students compete at Math Masters competition
(05/02/2025) On Friday, April 25, fifth-grade students from three elementary schools participated in the regional Math Masters Challenge in Shoreview. Math Masters is open to fourth, fifth and sixth-grade students and challenges participants to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills in mathematics, while recognizing academic effort and achievement.
